Lorraine Stoffus

Our hearts are saddened today
from the loss of our mom, grandma and great-grandma, Lorraine M. Stollfus, who
was called to heaven on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

She was born on October 5,
1929, to Joseph F. and Rose L. Fritsch Aller in Colby, one half mile from the
original Colby Cheese Factory. She spent her first 13 years in the Colby,
Dorchester and Curtiss areas, then moved to Fond du Lac where she finished
school at St. Joseph’s and then graduated from Goodrich High School in 1947.
She worked at Infant Socks.

On April 22, 1950, she
married Verlyn “Sugar” Stollfus at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac, where
they lived until 1955. They then moved to North Fond du Lac to a wonderful
neighborhood for 34 years with many friends including the Krug family and Carla
and Jerry Patt whom she loved. After retirement they moved and made their home near
Van Dyne. Her husband passed away on September 7, 2007. In 2010 she moved to
North Fond du Lac into the Northgate apartments.

Lorraine was an avid reader.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She did volunteer work and was a
member of the choir at Presentation Church attending daily Mass where she led
the rosary for 20 years. She loved line dancing and took trips out West and
Canada with her husband. She also went to New York with her daughters,
granddaughter and friends. Her highlights of the trip were visiting the Statue
of Liberty, Ellis Island and having lunch at the Tavern on the Green by Central
Park. She enjoyed the years that she, Dad and Joe spent at the trailer at Paradise
Valley Campground, Eden.  In earlier
years the family took trips down South to visit the Stollfus relatives.

Lorraine is survived by her
children, Greg (Terry) Stollfus of Fond du Lac, Sue (Mike) Kaufman of Waupun,
Pam Stollfus of Rosendale, Cory (Dorie) Stollfus of Fond du Lac, Joy (Steve)
Hankwitz of Malone and Joe Stollfus of Fond du Lac; 15 grandchildren, Carey (Greg)
