Mabel H. Zasada

Mabel H. Zasada, 91, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 12, 1928, in Leroy, WI, the daughter of Paul and Eleanor Hausinger Hefter. On September 27, 1947, she married George Zasada at St. Mary’s Church in Lomira. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1994.

Mabel worked at O’Briens, Edith’s, Sears and Kiekhaefer Marine. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mabel enjoyed traveling, took pride in her lawn and enjoyed gardening, and was the very best cookie and caramel maker. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Cheryl Herr of Fond du Lac, George (Renee) Zasada of Fond du Lac, Mary (Mark) Erbstoesser of Kiel and Karen (Jim) Soll of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren: Jason (Amanda) Zasada, Tim Zasada, Ryan Zasada, Jennifer (Brian) Teunissen, Laura (David) Madson, Katherine (Shannon) Williams, Julie (Kevin) Buelow, Bob (Leah) Herr and Andy (Megan) Soll; 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Colleen Hefter of Milwaukee and Kay Zasada of Dubuque, IA, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Zasada, her daughter Judith Ann, her son-in-law Kenneth Herr, her sisters: Eugenia (Donald) Sitzwohl and LaVerne (Joe) Valen, and her brother Lloyd Hefter.

VISITATION: Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required.

SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
