Marcella A. Gellings

Marcella “Sal” Gellings, 91, formerly of the Town of Forest passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Woodlands in Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on August 15, 1925, the daughter of Herman and Leona (Loehr) Pipping. On October 16, 1948, Sal married Richard A. Gellings at St. Paul’s in the Town of Forest. 



Rich and Sal operated the Hillview Bar near Dotyville before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. 



Sal enjoyed playing cards and her bowling leagues but was the happiest when spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children Carol (Mark) Benzinger, James Gellings and Michael (Jill) Gellings of the Town of Forest, grandchildren Michelle Flanigan, Robert (Leah) Benzinger, Carolyn (Dan) Gellings, Jamie (Zak) Gruber, Nikki (Greg) Blatz, Jim, Jesse and Natasha Gellings, great grandchildren Hayley, Hunter, Greta, Addy, Stella, Violet, Leona, and Shaelyn, sister Doris Kaiser, sister-in-law Gloria Pipping and brother-in-law Willie Gellings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 



She was preceded in death by her husband Rich on August 24, 1993, her son Joseph, her brother Melvin and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 



Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Forest (W2090 State Hwy 23, Mt Calvary). 



Rev. Mark Barenz will officiate and burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. 





Visitation will be Friday, April 28th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 9:30 AM until time of services. 





Memorials are appreciated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Agnesian Hospice Hope.
