Margaret J. Meier

Margaret J. Meier, 93, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, December 05, 2013 at the St. Francis Home.  Margaret was born in the Town of Rosendale on December 26, 1919, a daughter of William Jasper and Lilly (Smith) Roberts.

On June 20, 1940 she married Constantine Meier at the Rosendale Methodist Church.

Margaret was employed for 42 years with Best Roller Manufacturing of Fond du Lac.  She was a member of the Church of Peace.  Margaret was a former member of the Noon Optimist Club and the Low Vision Club of the Fond du Lac Senior Center. 

She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time to see her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by two children, Janet (Robert) Johnson of Chesterton IN and Eugene (Mary) Meier of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Carrie (Paul) Hamer, Christine (John) Buell, Cathie (Scott) Hernandez, Greg (Linda) Johnson, Margaret (Jim) Portelli; great grandchildren, Stephen Buell, Kevin Buell, Rebecca Buell, Elizabeth Hamer, Nicholas Hamer, Gabrielle Hernandez, Abigail Hernandez, Emelia  Hernandez, Natalie Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Rosie Portelli; sister, Doris (Robert) Klapperich ; brother, David (Arlene) Roberts; special friend, Jeanne Miller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Margaret in death are her parents; brothers, William, Thomas, Jarrett and Orville Roberts; sister, Jennie Neumann; great grandson, Vincent Portelli.

Visitation:  The family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.  There is also visitation on Monday, December 9, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Church of Peace, 158 S. Military Road, Fond du Lac.

Service: At 11:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2013 a Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Church of Peace.  Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the Church of Peace or the St. Francis Home.
