Margaret L. Whitty

Margaret L. Whitty, 88, of Fond du Lac passed away Monday Dec. 7, 2015 at the Woodland Senior Park. She was born in the town of Oakfield on January 11, 1927 the daughter of Rudolph and Martha (Kutz) Schoepke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oakfield. She married James Whitty on April 7, 1951 in Eden. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2002. Margaret was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Ladies of Good Shepherd. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, golfing and traveling. Prior to her retirement Margaret was employed on the acute unit of the Fond du Lac County Health Care Center. She loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include one daughter Pat Heimermann of Fond du Lac, two sons: Steven (Karen) Whitty and John (Donna) Whitty both of Eden, six grandchildren: Joe Heimermann of Milwaukee, Shelly (Joe) Schneider of Fond du Lac, Nick (Emily) W hitty of Chilton, Tim (special friend Sarah Mrochinski)Whitty of Eden, Nicole Whitty of DePere and Brooke Whitty of Eden, 3 great grandchildren: Sky, Eli and Hayden Schneider of Fond du Lac, sister-in-law Alice (Lyle) Hundertmark of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, one son Timothy Paul, one brother Melvin (Gene) Schoepke, one sister Tense (Lester) Perry and brother-in-law Wilbur (Darlene) Whitty. Funeral services will be held Friday December 11, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave. Fond du Lac. Rev. Brett Naumann will officiate with entombment at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thurs. Dec. 10th from 4:00 PM until 7PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac and on Friday Dec. 11th from 11:00 AM until time of services at the church.
