Margaret Marie Sadoff

Margaret Marie Sadoff, nee Setzer, died on Sunday, March 2nd, 2014, at St Francis Home in Fond du Lac.  She spent the last 3 1/2 years of her life in the caring and gentle hands of the wonderful people at St. Francis Terrace and Home.  Margaret lived a healthy life for almost all of her years dying peacefully of natural causes at the amazing age of 100 years and 54 days.

She had a happy childhood in North Fond du Lac, where she was born on January 7th, 1914. She graduated from high school in North Fond du Lac and then went on to work for Kresge’s Dime Store in Fond du Lac, remaining there for 17 years. Later in her life, she also worked many years for the H.C. Prange Company.

Margaret was known as “Mugs” or “Marg” to her husband, fellow quilters, bowling friends, fellow church members, neighbors, family, and her numerous friends “up north” in her beloved Tomahawk community.

To this writer she was Aunt Margaret. Aunt Margaret set a wonderful example as a quietly strong and independent woman.  And this was even more true when George Sadoff, her husband of only 11 years, died in 1963.

All of her immediate family preceded her in death: father, Theodore Setzer; mother, Emma Bethke Setzer Danks; sisters and brothers-in-law: Fern and Ray Baldwin, Evelyn and Emil Beyer; brothers and sisters in-law: Alfred and Marion Setzer, Lyle and Dorothea Setzer; and one nephew, Paul Setzer.

She is survived by nieces and their husbands:  Ellen and Mike Laszewski, Kay Setzer, and Mike Rausch of California, Joyce and Paul Stein of Verona, Wisconsin, and niece, Linda Struye of Fond du Lac.  She also has six great nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

Entombment has taken place at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
