Marion Loomans

Marion Loomans, 88, of Waupun, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at The Christian Home & Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.

Marion was born April 7, 1928 in the town of Alto the daughter of Peter and Mary Redeker Elenius.  On November 4, 1948 she married Harley A. Loomans in Alto.  Following their marriage the couple resided in the Fairwater area for 50 years and in 1998 moved to the Waupun area.  Marion was a homemaker and an assistant to her husband, Harley, on the farm as well as for his insurance agency.  She was an excellent baker and cook, sharing her gift with family, but most importantly, her faith with her family.  She was a member of Alto Reformed Church and a member of its Golden Lifers.

Marion is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Loomans of Waupun, WI; four sons: Phil (Lynette) Loomans of Brandon, WI, Ross (Donna) Loomans of Rock Rapids, IA, Cal (Dawn) Loomans of Waupun, WI, and Larry (Mercedes) Loomans of Slinger, WI; nine grandchildren: Paul (Erica) Loomans, Pam Loomans, Ryan Loomans, Jennifer (David) Woodruff, Tyler (Michielah) Loomans, Jenna (Nate) Bille, Taylor Loomans, Arik Loomans, and Michael Loomans; six great-grandchildren: Alicia, Jacob, and Julia Loomans, Nolan Bille, Wyatt Loomans, and Owen Woodruff; and a brother, Paul (Audrey) Elenius of Waupun, WI.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Loomans in 2009; a granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Loomans; her parents, Peter and Mary Elenius; three sisters: Louise Vander Galien, Ottolena Redeker and Florence DeYoung.

Funeral services for Marion Loomans will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Rev. Kevin Van Wyk and Rev. Ted Medema officiating.  Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.  Friends and relatives of Marion Loomans may call on the family on Friday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Per Marion’s request, memorials may be directed towards any mission, Alto Reformed Church or The Christian Home & Rehabilitation Center building fund.
