Mark E. Wirtz

Mark Ervin Wirtz, age 69, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin passed away March 10, 2021 at his home.  He was born on May 20, 1951 in Fond du Lac Wisconsin, and was the son of the late Ervin and Betty (Keyes) Wirtz. He was 1 of 6 children. 

Mark graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in 1969 and furthered his education at the University Wisconsin Oshkosh taking classes in Accounting.

He worked in the family business “Wirtz Decorating” for many years. He then moved on to manage Miller’s Tavern (now Sully’s) and later managed Kinker’s Korners in Van Dyne. Mark also worked at Action Printing for many years and retired from there.

Mark enjoyed family.  Some of his favorite memories growing up were the family road trips they took as well as trips up north to a cottage with family and friends. Mark was a life-longer learner and loved to read. He enjoyed visiting the local library on a weekly basis.  He always found comfort in a good book. Mark was a history buff and had an avid coin collection.   In his most recent interests, he enjoyed keeping up to speed on his great nieces and nephews and all of their extra-curricular activities. 

He is survived by his siblings:
Liz Suprenand and husband Dan of Fond du Lac, her daughter, Amy Collett and husband Chad and their two daughters, Riley and Hailey and her daughter Missy Late and husband Travis.

Dan Wirtz of Fond du Lac, his daughter Kelly Stauffacher and husband Kent and their two children, Kole and Kamryn and his daughter Tiffany Wirtz.

Mary Skinner of Shelby, NC, her daughter Holly Minion and husband Andrew, their two boys, Ryan and Marcus and her daughter Tammy Golden and husband Sean.

And sister-in-law Terri Wirtz of Wake Forest, NC.

Mark was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, parents Ervin and Betty Wirtz, his brother Joe Wirtz, sister-in-law Christine Wirtz and brother-in-law Mike Skinner.

Due to Covid, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
