Marlene E. Ellefson

Marlene E. Ellefson, 75, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 6, 1937, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Fred and Freida Kloehn Redman. Moving to Fond du Lac as a child, Marlene was a 1955 graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On September 15, 2001, she married Oliver A. “Andy” Ellefson at Grace Reformed Church. For over 15 years, she was a devoted secretary and member of Grace Reformed Church. Marlene was also a volunteer for breast cancer survivors, and taught pre-school at Heritage Pre-School at Grace Reformed Church.

          Surviving is her husband, Oliver, two sons, Rick Jenks of Fond du Lac, and Jim (Betsy) Jenks of Atlanta, GA, a daughter, Joan (Joe) Havey of Slinger, WI, six grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyle, Brent and Steven, and Ryan and Lauren, and one brother, Glen (Betty) Redman of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Russell Redman.

          Visitation for Marlene E. Ellefson will be on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 9 to 11 AM at Grace Reformed Church, 163 18th Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Monday at the church. Pastor Barry Vegter will officiate. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society for research of breast cancer, 234 W. Florida Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204.
