Mary E. Gescheidle

            Mary E. Gescheidle, 66, of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2013.

            She was born January 15, 1947 in Fond du Lac the daughter of the late Raymond R. and Valeria K. Freund Wagner.

            On November 16, 1968 she married James E. Gescheidle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

            Mary graduated from St. Mary Springs Academy in 1965.

Mary helped out throughout the Fond du Lac School District from 2004-2008. In 2008 she was hired to work full time for School Health and Safety Program, Comprehensive Service Integration (CS) and Drug Free Communities.  Mary was not only dedicated to her work but she was committed to vision and mission of the program which was to support the physical, social and emotional needs of children.  Over 35 years of Mary’s working career was spent at Hornung Pro Golf.

Mary was an avid Nascar fan (Go Rusty!).  She enjoyed designing greeting cards and frequent trips to Disney with family and friends

            Mary was a past Secretary of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs and the Fond du Lac County Snowmobile Association.  Mary and her husband Jim participated as a “Big Couple” with the Big Brothers Big Sister Program.  Mary founded and served as President of the Jim Gescheidle Scholarship Fund.

            Survivors include one sister Judy (Greg) Amadon  and their children Christopher (Bridgett), Nicole (Josh), and Crystal (Ben); four brothers: Dave (Carol) Wagner and their daughters, Keri (Norbert) and Karyn (Dan), Dick (Sandy) Wagner and their son Gabriel (Rachel), Jim (Elizabeth) Wagner and their sons, Nicholas, John and Steve, and Steve (Mary) Wagner and their children Ashley (Kevin) and Bradley; two brothers in law, Leonard (Charlene) Gescheidle and their sons, Steve (Carole) and Greg, and Joe Wiedemann; nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and her special dog, Simon.

            She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Jim, her mother in law and father in law; her niece and god child Emily Wagner; and her sister in law Janet Wiedeman.

Visitation:  Family will receive relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, on Friday December 20, 2013, 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  There will be visitation on Saturday at Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, from 11: 00 am to 12:15 pm.           

            Service:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 12:30 PM.  Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.

            Mary loved family, friends, Disney, and life itself.   Her untimely death weighs heavy on all the lives she has touched.  Her passing is made easier knowing she is reunited with the love of her life!  Thanks for the memories and until we meet again, Merry Christmas, Love your family.
