Mary Jane Fox

Mary Jane Fox, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday May 23, 2013 at Hospice Home of Hope.

She was born on June 19, 1925, in Omro WI, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Egan. She married Harold Fox on Thanksgiving Day, 1950.

Mary is survived by her eight children: Sue Meyer of Marshfield, Jane (Frank) Foldes of Lexington, KY, Pat (Lynn) Fox of Fond du Lac, Tim (Shirley) Fox of Brooklyn, WI, Mike Fox (Lynn) of Wrightstown, Ellen Everix of Fond du Lac, Kevin (Michelle) Fox of Oakfield, and Meg (Shawn) Gross of Oshkosh.

Mary was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Jen (Chris) Rodrigo, Amy (Matt) Zoschke, Ben (Lori) Meyer, Greg (Sarah) Meyer, Stephen (Emily) Foldes, David Foldes, Gina and Nathan Gross, Jon Fox, Conner Fox, Sam Sweetman, Jack and Lily Fox.

She was proud of her 11 great-grandchildren: Chelsea Everix, Olivia Rodrigo, Jonah, Ian, Micah Zoschke, Aurelia and Nelson Meyer, Norah and Charles Meyer, and James and Eliza Foldes.

Mary is also survived by her brother, Bob (Liz) Egan; her sister, Sr. Sylvia Egan; a brother- in- law, Joey Binder; a sister- in-law, Mary Kathryn Locke; a brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Lou) Fox; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a brother, Jim Egan; a sister, Kathryn Binder; two sons- in- law: Steve Meyer and Dick Everix; and a special friend, Roy Hess.

Mary enjoyed volunteering at Fond du Lac County Health Care Center. She also enjoyed getting together with family, playing cards, watching sports, and doing activities with friends. She was known for her quick wit, spunk, and sense of humor.

Mary proudly donated her body to UW -Madison for research.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope or a charity of one’s choice. Special thanks to Dr. Gabriel Litman and the exceptional staff and volunteers of Hospice Home of Hope. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at church from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service.  A dinner reception celebrating Mary’s life will follow the service at Holiday Inn, Fond du Lac.
