Mary Jo Birschbach

Mary Jo Birschbach, 71, of Campbellsport passed away Friday November 27, 2015 at St. Agnes hospital with her beloved family gathered around her. She was born on May 26, 1944 in Fond du Lac the daughter of Erwin and Helen (nee Coyne) Schoening. On November 25, 1972, Mary Jo married Joseph Birschbach at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Armstrong. Mary Jo received her Bachelor of Education degree from UW Oshkosh and began her teaching career in 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Fond du Lac, and also taught at Campbellsport Junior High School, St. Mary’s Catholic School in Eden and then Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac before retiring. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Mary Jo enjoyed a week vacation each Summer in Door County with her sister Barbara and friends Jackie Tibbits, Sharon Donovan and Mary Zwicky. She was also an avid reader but most important to her was the time she spent with her family.   Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband Joseph, her children Angela (Stephen) Alexander of Livonia, MI, Jeffrey (Michaela) Birschbach of Neenah, Susan (Andrew) Rettler of West Bend and Judy Birschbach of Menomonee Falls, her grandchildren Trevor and Audrey Alexander, Beckett and Henley Birschbach and Lauren and Elsa Rettler, her sister Barbara (Dan) Reinhold of Neenah, her sisters-in-law Mary Halbur and Ann Koenig, her brother-in-law John (Janet) Birschbach, other relatives and friends. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law Norbert Halbur and Mark Koenig.   Visitation will be Tuesday December 1st from 3:00 to 6:30 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday December 1st at 7:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev.
