Mary M. Sager

Mary Margaret “Mimi” Sager, 73, of Fond du Lac, died in an automobile accident in Montana on September 11, 2017.

Mimi was born on July 29, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri to Gerhard and Mildred (Stellhorn) Schroth. On August 6, 1966, Mimi married Steven Sager in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mimi loved her Lord and placed her full confidence and trust in the love and grace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mimi was deeply involved in her church, Hope Lutheran, and she lived her faith every day, attending Women’s Bible Study, teaching Sunday School for over 30 years, serving Loaves and Fishes, and traveling to El Salvador for mission trips. She was a graduate of Luther North High School and Valparaiso University. She believed in the power and importance of education, teaching elementary school, substituting, and serving on the Fond du Lac School Board. She was active in the recovering community. Mimi loved music and participated in numerous choirs such as the South Shore Chorale. She was a gifted cook, knitter, and quilter, always freely sharing her creations with her loved ones. She loved attending plays and musicals. She read daily and constantly commented on the beauty in the world. She fiercely loved her family, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren and was always excited for the holidays and next gathering. Mimi was strong-willed, loving, and tender and freely gave of herself.  Everyone who came in contact with her felt her love.
