Mary Seibel-Dobyns

Mary Rita (Leonard)
Seibel-Dobyns, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.

 

Mary was born December 12,
1932 to Fred J. and Lina (Mertes) Leonard. She graduated from St. Mary’s
Springs in 1951.

 

On September 26, 1959 Mary
married Brian Seibel at St Michael’s Church in Dotyville. Together they enjoyed
running their family dairy farm. Brian died Sept 12, 1993 after a courageous
battle with cancer. On June 7, 1997 she married Thomas Dobyns at St. Louis
Church in Fond du Lac.

 

Mary retired from First Star
Bank after two decades of loyal service. For years she enjoyed bowling and was
a member of the National 600 Bowling Club. Mary was a tremendous cook, baker of
delicious desserts, a lover of birds and had a green thumb blooming beautiful
gardens. As a true Wisconsinite she also loved following the Packers and
Brewers.

 

She is survived by her
husband Tom, her son Mark Seibel of West Bend and daughter-in-law Julie Seibel
of Fond du Lac; her daughter Laura (Jim) Horning of Fond du Lac, and 4
Grandchildren – Shawn (Lyssa) Seibel, Nicholas, Alexandrea, and Douglas
Horning. Mary is also survived by 4 stepchildren- Anne (Terry) Lemke, Daniel
Dobyns, Deborah (Darrell Frank) Dobyns, and Patrick

(Brenda) Dobyns and 6 step
grandchildren – Nicholas (Kate) Lemke and Kathlene (Timothy) Balcerzak,
Jennifer (Tony) Schmitz, Luke Morse, Anthony Dobyns and Enleigh (Mike)
Schuetter, and 6 step great grandchildren. Also surviving Mary are her brother
Chuck Leonard of Illinois, her sister-in-law Phyllis Leonard of Fond du Lac and
many nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding Mary in death were
her first husband Brian, infant children Daniel and Jennifer Seibel, parents
Fred and Lina Leonard, brothers Tony and George Leonard, her sister Betty Porn,
and sister in-laws Rose Leonard, Marian Leonard, and brother-in Ed Porn.

 

VISITATION: Family and
friends may greet the family at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way in Fond
du Lac on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at
11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Forest Cemetery. Cremation has taken
place.

 

In lieu of flowers, a
memorial in Mary’s name has been established.
