Mary W. Binning

Mary
Wileden Binning, age 89, passed away at her home surrounded by family on
December 22, 2019.  Mary was born in
Madison, WI to Arthur and Harriet Wileden. She graduated from Madison West High
School where she was the editor of the school newspaper. She graduated with honors
from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a BS in Home Economics. She
married fellow Badger, Robert C. Binning in 1952, recently celebrating 67 years
together. They resided in Fond du Lac, WI at the time of her death.


Mary
was a teacher in the Cincinnati, Madison, and Fond du Lac (Sabish) school
districts. She was an active volunteer and lifelong learner, working with many
community programs including Campfire Girls Inc. in Marshfield as a leadership
trainer and council president, Master Gardeners, delivering meals and
visitations to Oakfield Retirement Community, and as an instructional materials
aide at elementary, middle, and high school levels in Madison and Marshfield.
She loved to camp, teach and create, sewing including several family wedding
dresses, weaving on a loom, gardening, and cooking different cultural dishes.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fond du Lac.  Throughout her life she was active in the
churches she was a member of, serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and
elder.

 

She
leaves behind her husband, Robert C. Binning, three children, Susan Hamilton
(Scott) of South Charleston, WV, Marcia Obukowicz (Tim) of Rhinelander, WI, and
Thomas Binning (Roseann) of Watertown, WI and grandchildren Amanda Hamilton and
Eric Hamilton, and by her brother, John (Donna) Wileden of Madison, WI. She is
also survived by international students hosted by Marica and Tim Obukowicz:
Dmitry Deniskin, Elías Thorbjornson, Okan Yunusoglu, Alena Inkova, Jorge Araya
Rivas, and Lin Su. She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

A
memorial service will take place at a later date.

 

In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Fond du
Lac or Agnesian Hospice Hope.
