Maureen Jean (Hoey) Kaiser

Maureen Jean (Hoey) Kaiser, surrounded by her family in her
final days, was brought home to the loving hands of our Lord July 27, 2014 with
her sister by her side at Manor Care in Fond du Lac, WI due to complications
from Lewy-Body Dementia.  She was born August
26, 1941 in Fond du Lac, WI to Florence (Sampson) and Maurice Hoey.

Maureen graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1960 and
worked in the dietary department at St. Agnes Hospital.  She also worked for the A.C. Nielsen Company
prior to raising her children and again when her children were older.  Maureen was a Girl Scout Leader and a member
of the Presentation School Board in North Fond du Lac, WI.  On June 23, 1962 she married the love of her
life, Robert Kaiser at St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac, WI.  Maureen was thrilled to have had the blessing
of a wonderful marriage and celebrated their 50 year anniversary at home with
her immediate family in 2012.  One of the
greatest lessons she shared with her children was that the love between a husband
and wife was the most important thing to keep a family strong.  Maureen’s love and devotion for her husband
was as strong as her independent Irish spirit.

Maureen was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage and sang
Irish songs with her caregivers.  She
took great pride in her children and grandchildren.  Maureen realized her time on earth was short
and would hold her grandbabies through an entire nap because she wanted to
spend as much time with them as she could.
Maureen loved animals especially her dog, Tiger.  She loved to travel to Grand Marais, MI, Arizona
and the Smokey Mountains with Robert.
She loved her flower gardens, bird watching, jigsaw puzzles and was an
avid reader.  Anyone who received an
Irish afghan from her knew that she loved to crochet and do needlepoint.

Maureen was an historian in her own right as she enjoyed
researching family genealogy which she did for over 30 years.  Her research provided wonderful connections
and memories for the many people with whom she shared her research.  Love of family was important to her and she
was an extremely compassionate and kind personal caregiver to various family
members and friends.

Maureen is survived by her husband Robert of Fond du Lac,
one son Kevin (Lori) Kaiser of Van Dyne, WI; two daughters Catherine (Steven)
Winters of Oshkosh and Minocqua WI, Elissa (Patrick) Moriearty of Fond du Lac,
WI.  She is further survived by her
grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cody) Maeder of Eden, WI, Katie Kaiser of Fond du
Lac, WI, and twins Grace Winters and Bennett Winters of Oshkosh and Minocqua,
WI.  Maureen always teased Cathy that she
wrote her address in pencil because she moved so much.  Maureen is also survived by her loving sister
Mary Hoey of Fond du Lac, WI and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law
Wilferd Kaiser, mother-in-law Florence (Pfiefer) Kaiser and sister-in-law
Jeanne (Kaiser) Murray.
