Melvin L. Rost

Melvin Lawrence Rost, 87, of
North Fond du Lac, died Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Agnes Hospital.

 

He was born on June 24, 1929,
in Fond du Lac, a son of Otto A. and Emmaline E. Hintz Rost.  He was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran
Academy.

 

Melvin served the United States
Army, as an MP, in both Japan and during the Korean Conflict.

 

He retired from Winnebago
Lutheran Academy in 1993, after 27 years as head custodian. He would go on to
enjoy his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the love of his life.

 

On February 28, 1952, he
married Shirley Mae Voss.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Shirley; a son, Gary (Cheryl) Rost of Verona; two daughters:  Diane (Mark) Logterman of North Fond du Lac,
and Pam (Mike) Krebs of Sauk City; seven grandchildren:  Amanda, Rebecca, Cory, Sara, Michelle (Mark)
Brunner, Andy, and Jenni; five great-grandchildren:  Addison, Carter, Cora, Afton, and Sophia,
with number six due in March.  He is
further survived by a sister-in-law, Barbara Rost; and a brother-in-law, Ernie
Fogle.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; his mother and father-in-law; three brothers:  Eugene, Harold, and Wayne; and two
sisters:  Pearl and Marilyn

 

VISITATION:  The family will greet relatives and friends
from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016, at St. Paul’s Ev.
Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue,

North Fond du Lac.

 

SERVICE:  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on Friday at St. Paul’s Ev. 
Lutheran Church with Rev.
Michael Kampman and Rev. Thomas Behnke officiating.

 

Inurnment will be in
Estabrooks Cemetery.
