Michael J. Camlin
Michael J. Camlin, 71, of Campbellsport left this world on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbie and his beloved family.
He was born on May 19, 1947 in Chicago, IL the son of William and Susan (nee Figuly) Camlin.
Mike served his country in the U. S. Army serving two tours of duty in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division. A decorated Veteran, he came to West Bend with friends from the Army.
On April 25, 1970, Mike married Barbara Ann Medinger at Immaculate Conception Church in West Bend.
He worked as shop foreman and mechanic at Johnson Bus in Menomonee Falls for over 40 years retiring in 2015 due to ill health.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his wife Barb, his family and his dog Bubbles. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and hoped he would see them win the World Series, which he did in 2016. Mike was kind, compassionate, intelligent, humble, gentle to all creatures and loved everyone.
He could talk to anyone (even strangers) about anything; he enjoyed making people laugh, telling jokes and was always the life of the party.
Mike also enjoyed making models, flying drones and R. C. planes, singing, playing softball, dartball, watching Cubs games and casino road trips. He was a hard worker and a very skilled mechanic of all vehicles. Mike was always happy and had a heart of gold.
Survivors include his wife Barb, children Angela Monte of Campbellsport, Jeff (Betty) Camlin of West Bend and Sheila (Steven) Bowman of Hartland, grandchildren Preston Sponholz, Kelsey Sponholz, Maxwell Monte, Ashley Camlin and Anna Camlin, brother Tom (Betty) Camlin of Beecher, IL, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dennis and Diane Gudex, Jim and Helen Medinger and Kevin and Deb Niemuth and other relatives and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother William “Joe” (Mona) Camlin, nephew George Camlin and in-laws Leland and Geraldine Niemuth.
A visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport starting at 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and conclude with Military Honors.
