Mildred F. Murphy

Mildred F. Murphy, 93, formerly of Eden, passed away peacefully at the St. Francis Home, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. 



She was born in St. Peter on November 2, 1924, the second child of Henry and Cecilia Birschbach Kraus. 



On May 2, 1949 Mildred married James B. Murphy at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Her beloved husband Jim preceded her in death on July 13, 2011. The farming operation Jim and Millie started in the Eden area became Murph-Ko Farms, operated now by their son and grandchildren. 



Mildred was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters St Mary’s Court in Eden and was a member of the choir at St. Mary’s in Eden. For many years Mildred was a volunteer at the Galloway House. 



Those Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory include one son Tom (Patty) Murphy of Eden; two daughters, Ann (Stan) Smith of Fond du Lac and Jean (Jim) Ziegler of Eden, eight grandchildren, Duane, Scott (Erin), Steve and Brian (Brittany) Murphy, Stacy (Randy Ebertz) and Julie (Corey Shady) Smith, Jim (Melissa) Ziegler and Sarah (Nate) Heisler; ten great- grandchildren, Dillon Smith, Deszray, Kaity, Skylar, Kyle, Charlie and Levi Murphy, Hadley Ziegler and Ella and Aubrey Heisler; and one great-great granddaughter Lauren; three step grandchildren, Stacey (Mike) Loof, Stephany (Adam) Hettwer and Marcey (Nick) Laudolff, and ten step great grandchildren. 



She is also survived by two sisters Esther Schumacher and Bernice (Delbert) Sabel, two brothers Lawrence (Marie) Kraus and Clarence (Sara) Kraus; two sisters-in-law Mary Kraus and Dorothy Murphy and a brother-in-law Elmer Sabel and many other relatives and friends. 



She was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2011, her parents, her sisters Stella Schaefer and Marcelline Sabel, and her brother Sylvester Kraus. 



SERVICES: Liturgy of the Word will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3:00pm at the St. Francis Home, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac with Father Adrian Staehler officiating. 



Private family burial will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St Mary’s Cemetery in Eden. 



VISITATION: Friends may call on Sunday, March 4 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the St. Francis Home. 



The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Francis Terrace and Home and Hospice for their loving care of Mildred.
