Milton A. Anderson

Milton A. Anderson, 93 years old of Millburn, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Charter Senior Living of Vernon Hills. He was born October 22, 1927, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of the late Andrew A. and Bertha V. (neé Almquist) Anderson. In 1960, he made his home in Millburn and lived in a house he and his father built until 2016. Milton proudly served in the US Navy as a pilot, Lieutenant JG during the Korean War. Milton was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and later received his MBA from Lake Forest College. Before his retirement in 2002, Milton worked as an Engineer at Johns Manville Corp, and a Manager at Abbott Laboratories in the Pharmaceutical division, before starting his own company, Research Compliance Services. He also served as President of American Society of Quality Control (ASQC). He authored the book, Good Laboratory Practices, first edition published in 1987. Milton was very active in his community. He was a member of the following: Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ, Lindenhurst VFW, Millburn Community School Board (President), founding member of the Millburn Historical Society, and he also served as trustee for the Village Board of Old Mill Creek. He loved to play tennis and played until he was 82 on a league in Lake Bluff, IL. Milton enjoyed traveling and was able to visit all seven continents. On November 27, 1954, he married Dorothy M. Verke at Millburn Congregational Church, Millburn, IL, and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1988.

Survivors include: son, Edward Anderson of Branson, MO, and daughter, Victoria (John) Moulchin of Lake Villa, IL; grandchildren: Brenden (Gabby) Anderson, Erin Anderson, Alexandria (Aaron) Kaufman, and Amanda Moulchin; three great-grandchildren: Seymour, Jackson, and Lily; a sister Mary Jean (Jerry) Aspatore of Fond du Lac, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Dorothy, Milton was preceded in death by his sister Margaret (Harry) Soukup.

Both Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17 from 3PM to 6PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, visitation from 11AM to Noon. Interment with military honors will follow at Millburn Cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL.
