Orin “Roy” Treadwell

 

Orin Roy Treadwell, 91, of
Fond du Lac, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at St. Francis Terrace.

 

He was born to the late
George and Mildred Treadwell in Fond du Lac.

 

He graduated from Fond du Lac
Senior High School in 1941.

 

Roy enlisted in the U.S. Army
Aircorps in 1942, serving as a radar engineer on B-17s and served until 1946.

 

He was part owner of Tesloff
Wilson’s Appliance Store from 1946 until 1963, and moved to Mercury Marine
where he held various management positions until his retirement in 1988.

 

On May 28, 1949, he married
Marilyn L. Treuschel at Division St. Methodist Church, where they both were
very active.

 

Roy was an avid woodworker,
bowler, and enjoyed ballroom dancing.

 

His first love was his
children and grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his
daughter, Lynda (Bob) Nehls, of Lakeville, MN; five grandchildren: Andrew
(Krystle) Nehls, Melissa and Emily Nehls, and Travis and Nathan Treadwell; and
a daughter in law, Mary Ann Treadwell of Appleton.   Roy was soon to be a great-grandfather of
twins from his grandson, Travis (Michele). 
He is further survived by a brother, David (Ann) Treadwell; a
brother-in-law, John Brenner; and nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding him in death were
his parents; his wife, Marilyn; his son, Jeffrey Treadwell; and sister-in-law,
Tina Brenner.

 

Visitation will take place on
Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Covenant United
Methodist Church, 20 North Marr Street, Fond du Lac.

 

The funeral service will
follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Morning officiating.

 

Burial will be in Greenbush
Cemetery.
