Palmer “Billy” Sokolik

Palmer “Billy” Sokolik, 75, went to the loving arms of his lord Wednesday February 24, 2016 with his family by his side. He fought a tough fight with lung cancer and refused to let it win.

Bill was a man that could fix just about anything with next to nothing. He loved to tinker on cars and was our go to guy for anything from repairs to advice on life.   He loved his pets like they were his children.  They will miss him dearly.  Palmer was born May 14 1940 in La Crosse ,WI the youngest of 7 children.  In 1963 he married the love of his life Frances Fillardeau. Together they had 4 children, Mark, Patrick, Martin and Joann.

Bill is survived by his wife Frances, his sons Mark (Tammy) and grandson Cody (Cheyenne), Patrick (Patty) grandsons Dillon (Sarah) and Dawson (Brey), great grandchildren Austin Antonio and Aubreigh, and Martin and grandson Brady, daughter Joann grandchildren Dominic (Felicia) and Francesca, great grandson Duke, brothers Jim, Jerry and Ronny, sister Mary, special people in his life Mike Jackie and Jessica Malterer, Rex and Jerry Moss, and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Proceeding him in death are his parents, brother Jack and sister Eileen.

Our family would like to thank Dr Jones and his staff at the cancer center for the loving care they gave Bill and the family during this difficult time and the hospice care for helping us through this journey. We will forever be thankful for their care and compassion.
