Patricia M. Parsons
Patricia Marie Parsons, age 78, of Stockbridge, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. She was born March 20, 1940 in Whiting, Indiana, daughter of the late Theodore & Hilda (Gillis) Meyer.
She graduated from Stockbridge High School and married Marvin Leitner on June 18, 1960. During her life, she worked at Tecumseh products from 1960 until 1970 and waitressed for many years at the Gobblers Knob in Stockbridge. She also managed the books for M&D Electric and cared for numerous children in her home through the 80’s and 90’s. In 1993, she took over as head cook of the Stockbridge Public School system and retired in 2006. It was at this time she married Don Parsons on July 1, 2006; he preceded her in death on April 12, 2010.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and was a former member of the Fox Valley Sweet Adelines; a group of gals Pat loved to spend time crooning and traveling with.
Patricia was well known for her hearty laugh and her simple ability to allow those around her to know exactly what she was thinking. She appreciated trips to the casino to shake hands with the one armed bandit and moments spent with those she loved; her family and her friends.
Survivors include her children: Kim (Bob) Wettstein, Christopher (Lois) Leitner, Carrie (Joe) Weber; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ryan (Jessica) Wettstein and their children: Mara & Maddox; Ross (Jamie) Wettstein and their children: Hunter & Harrison; Reid Wettstein, Matthew, Katie & Zachery Leitner, Kiara Weber; a brother: Wayne (Ginny) Meyer; sisters: Marilyn (Lyle) Levknecht, Carole Wolf, Ellie Hammen; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Judy Meyer, Bob (Mary) Leitner, Ken (Ginny) Leitner and Richard (Joan) Leitner. She is further survived by niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her in laws: Severin & Ethel Leitner; a brother: Theodore Meyer; brothers-in-law: Sam Wolf & Dan Hammen; step father: Al Lagerman; step father: Joe Stahl and a nephew: Bob Levknecht.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on April 30, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church (Military Road) in Stockbridge with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, April 29, 2018 and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. A vigil service will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home at the close of the visitation.
