Patricia M. Twohig

Patricia M. Twohig, 94, formerly of Armstrong, WI passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, WI where she resided for the past seven years.

Pat was born on December 12, 1927 to George and Mollie (Browne) Twohig, the youngest of their 10 children. She attended rural grade schools in Fond du Lac County for her elementary and middle school years. Pat was a graduate of St. Mary’s Springs Academy, class of 1945. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Marian College in 1949 and a Master Degree in Education from Cardinal Stritch University in 1967. Pat worked as a teacher for several years in the public schools in Escanaba, MI and as a classroom teacher and reading specialist in the Wisconsin districts of Jefferson, Fond du Lac, Cedarburg, Appleton, Germantown, and Oshkosh before her retirement in 1992.

Throughout her life, Pat was known for her Irish wit, fun-loving personality, creative storytelling, love of travel, and her kindness and generosity to family and the community. Pat was a longstanding member of Shepherd of the Hills Parish in Eden. She was an avid fan of the Packers, Cubs, and Brewers. Pat was active in genealogical research, a past president of the Irish History Club of Fond du Lac, and active in community theatre productions and educational organizations.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; Laura May, George (Catherine), Nora Niederehe (Herbert), David (Roseann), John (Florence) (June), Betty, Margaret Fitzgerald (Jerry), Leo, and Robert (Rosemary). Survivors include many nieces and nephews, and loyal and longstanding friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett St. Fond du Lac, WI. 54935. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Adrian Staehler officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Armstrong, WI.

Masks are required for the visitation and Mass at St. Francis Home.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Francis Home for their loving care of Pat over the years, a community she considered another home. A special thanks to Agnesian Hospice for their dedicated service supporting Pat over the past year.
