Ruedinger, Paul Edmund

A wonderful life ended April 16, 2014 with the passing of Paul E. Ruedinger, 83, born May 20, 1930 in Oshkosh WI after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was the son of Arloa (Apker) and Edmund Ruedinger and husband of Delores (De Bruin) of 59 loving years where they farmed near Van Dyne, WI.

Paul had a sunny disposition, great generosity and compassion for his fellow man.  His faith in God was very important to him.  Paul was a 4th and 3rd degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus.  He served as a trustee and council member at Presentation BVM Parish in North Fond du Lac, WI for many years.  He continued his devotion in Christ thru service at St. Rose Parish in Anthem, AZ working with St. Vincent DePaul Society.  He served in Korea in the 96th Regiment where he saw action in the artillery during the Korean War.  He was truly a stand out in his profession serving on many cooperative boards including Farm Land Industries, Agri-Land Coop, Rosendale Town Mutual Insurance, and WI Association of Town Mutual Insurances.  He was a member of the Catholic Financial Life (Catholic Knights Branch 19), Lions Club and was on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Eldorado.

Paul was especially proud of his six children Veronica (Dennis) Dushek, John (Karen), Paul, Mary (Thomas) Shellander, Anne (Norman) Reeves and Margaret (Kevin) Klein.  He is survived by 21 grandchildren: Matt Dushek, Jana (Dan) Draeger, Sarah (Scott) Melin, John (Natalie) Ruedinger, Melissa (Ryan) Benzinger, Laura Ruedinger, Jamie (Dave) Zappa, Laura and Nick Shellander, Bethany, Hannah, Katie, Stephen, Sarah, Abigail, Julia, Joanna and Nathan Reeves, Andrew, Adam and Amber Klein and seven great-grandchildren: Adison, Aiden, and Ashton Benzinger, Anna and Joseph Ruedinger, Chelsea Draeger and Zachary Zappa.  He is also survived by three brothers Donald, Bill and Doug Ruedinger and three sisters Carol Gilsdorf, Arloa Stienike and Ramona White.

He was predeceased in death by one great-grandchild, Kaylin Dushek; two brothers Gordon and Harold Ruedinger and his parents.

Paul will be missed by the many people he met, especially by his cherished family and friends in Wisconsin and Anthem, AZ.
