Paulette “Polly” Ann Sauerbrei

Paulette “Polly” Ann Sauerbrei, 71, of Waupun, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Waupun Memorial Hospital after a courageous fight with cancer.

 

Polly was born May 31, 1942 in Waupun, the daughter of John and Clara Dorrestyne Vossekuil. She attended Waupun schools and tended bar for various taverns until starting her own business, “Polly’s Bar” in December of 1987, retiring in 2004. She was an avid pool shooter, shooting pool for over 40 years in many different leagues.

 

Polly is survived by her children, Scott (Lori) Sauerbrei of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Sheryl (Kevin) Rank of Doniphan, MO, Shawn Sauerbrei of Bluffton, SC, and Randy (Diana) Sauerbrei of Kingsland, GA; nine grandchildren, Michele (Frank) Kreyer, Kyle Sauerbrei, Brittany (John) Rank, Camaron Rank, Shannon Sauerbrei, Brandon Sauerbrei, Ashley (Seth) Wilkinson, Loryn Sauerbrei, and Erick Sauerbrei; five great-grandchildren, Kendrick Kreyer, Preston Rank, and Gavin and Marlee Wilkinson, and Karson Sauerbrei; brothers, Ruben Vossekuil of Arnold, CA, Orin Vossekuil of Waupun, and Kenneth Vossekuil of Waupun; sisters, Sharon (Bill) Kwakkel of Ripon, WI, and Marilyn (John) Vander Sanden of Waupun; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Polly was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sylvia Holl and Marlene Emerson; four brothers, Richard, Lester, Wayne, and Leroy Vossekuil; three sisters-in-law, Verona Vossekuil, Bernice Vossekuil, and Louise Vossekuil, a brother-in-law, Orville Emerson; and a special friend, Clarence Zimmerman.

 

A celebration of Polly’s life will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Waupun United Methodist Church with Rev. J.D. McCarty officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service and they will continue to receive friends and relatives for one hour following the service as they continue to celebrate Polly’s life.
