Peter Charles Hall

Peter Charles Hall, 62, of North Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

 

He was born on May 6, 1950, in Fond du Lac, a son of Ralph Peter and Adeline Martha King Hall.

 

He attended Goodrich High School and entered service on January 28, 1969.  Basic training was received at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and further training at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

 

Peter served with the United States Army in Company D, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, and 25th Infantry Division.

 

A U.S. Army veteran, Peter distinguished himself in Vietnam by being awarded the Air Medal for participating in more than 25 aerial missions over enemy territory. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, and the Purple Heart.  Reunions with the 25th Infantry Division were events Peter came to look forward to.  We are very grateful to his combat buddies for all their support.

 

Peter worked at the Soo Line Railroad for many years and at Saputo Cheese for 15 years.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Carrieann (Vincent) Eberhart of Fortson, Georgia;  two grandchildren:  Travis and Marcus; his former wife, Sue Morris; a stepson, Paul; a brother, Ralph Hall; four sisters:  Pat Langacker, Sara (Peter) Schwartz, Marlene (Robert) Thinnes, and RaeJean (John) DeLap; nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Harold Langacker; and a sister-in-law, Joan Hall.

 

A private family service will be held.
