Philip J. Langenecker

Philip J. Langenecker, 98, of Fond du Lac, passed away Thursday January 23, 2014 at St. Francis Terrace, Fond du Lac.

He was born in the town of Addison, in Washington County, the son of John and Mathilda Langenecker.

Philip was educated at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School in Nenno and received a diploma in diesel mechanics from Greer College in Chicago.

He was united in marriage to Annadel Bodden on October 16, 1940 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa. Together they had four children. Annadel preceded Philip in death on June 25, 1981. He was united in marriage to Anna Nolan on October 21, 1983 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Anna preceded him in death on December 28, 1999.

Philip founded and operated Theresa Implement Company, in Theresa, in 1945 and later added plumbing and heating to his business.  He retired in 1979. Philip was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa, where he served on the parish council and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Theresa Lions Club. After moving to Fond du Lac, he was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community. Philip enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, horseshoes, and playing cards.

He is survived by two sons, John (Connie) Langenecker of Theresa and Ralph (Jane) Langenecker of Lomira, two daughters, Carol (Robert) Burress of Miramar Beach, FL, and Ann (Kenneth) Rodig of Sussex, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Edna Langenecker and Clara Schaefer, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, special friend, Evelyn Casper, four brothers, Frank, Peter, Joseph and Gilbert Langenecker, three sisters, Helen Bodden, Genevieve Dietenberger and Rosella Kuechler.

Visitation: The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac, from 10:00 to 11:15 AM.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday at 11:30 AM; burial will be in the St. Theresa Memorial Garden, Theresa, WI.
