Phillip Libby

Phillip “Phil” Libby, 84, of Town of Taycheedah, died on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Harbor Haven.
Phil was born on December 26, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of Lester and Helen Libby. He was
raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School. He was on the football and golf
teams. After high school, Phil enlisted in the Navy where he trained as an aircraft engine mechanic.
On August 31, 1957 Phil married Lynn Weick of Milwaukee. Phil’s career was primarily in the
building industry, working for Kindt Lumber in Lomira and Badger Home Builders in Waukesha.
His hobbies included fishing, pheasant hunting, competitive shooting, bowling and woodworking.
Phil especially loved spending time with his family. He was a regular spectator at all his
grandchildren’s sporting, music and school events and served as a Cub Scout leader for his son.
He is survived by his daughters: Pamela (Bill) Hanke of Taycheedah and Jennifer (Pat) Wittlinger of
Taycheedah, as well as his grandchildren: Ryan Hanke, Zoey Hanke (fiancé John Fisher), Benjamin
Wittlinger and Victor Wittlinger.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lynn and his son, Christopher James Libby.
A private family gathering will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park at the time of his inurnment.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Harbor Haven and the hospice workers for all the
kindness they showed Phil and our family.
