Phyllis L. Hensel

Phyllis L. Hensel, 90, of
Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at Hospice
Home of Hope, on Sunday, December 13, 2015.

 

She was born on January 29,
1925, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Henry R. and Lydia L. Haulke Bohlman.  She attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School,
Winnebago Lutheran Academy, and Goodrich High School.

 

On August 30, 1947, she
married Hubert R. Hensel at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, and
they resided for 64 years in their home her husband built.

 

Phyllis worked at Rueping
Leather Company and then became a housewife and bookkeeper for her husband’s
Sharpening Service.

 

She enjoyed reading, growing
flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family.  Phyllis was a member of St. Peter’s Ev.
Lutheran Church.

 

She is survived by her
husband of 68 years, Hubert; a daughter, Diane (Bob) Stangl of Ripon; four
grandchildren:  McKenzie, Shae, Mason,
and Tanner Stangl, all of Ripon; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kathy
(Stewart) Kumber of California.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; an infant son, Steven; a sister, Bernice Kirschenstein; and a
brother, Leo Bohlman.

 

VISITATION:  The visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. –
12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL SERVICE:  The funeral service will be held at 12:00
p.m. on Wednesday at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory with Rev. Fred
Toppe officiating.

 

Burial will follow in
Estabrooks Cemetery.
