Phyllis M. Schnuell

Phyllis M. Schnuell, age 90 of Chilton, died on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Little Chute.  She was born January 31, 2019 in St. Nazianz; daughter of the late Edwin & Aurelia has (Smasal) Biedenbender and was claimed as a child of God through her baptism at St. Gregory Parish on February 11, 1929.  She married Wilbur Schnuell on May 29, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1995.

Through her working career, Phyllis worked at Foley Company in Chilton, formerly known as Aluminum Specialty, until her retirement in June of 1992.  She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein where she served as custodian and the Sunday School Secretary/Treasurer for over 30 years to help aid the proclamation of the Gospel of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to the young and old alike.

Phyllis was well known for the large gardens she tended to year after year.  The procurement of the many fruits and vegetables was no simple task, and she enlisted the help of her able bodied sons to harvest her crops.  This delicious produce found its way to the dinner table fresh, to the canner for food storage, and many, many bushels of pickles were carried by her sons to the pickle factory for social consumption.  This strong work ethic was graciously passed down to her children and is even being detected another generation later.  Phyllis truly embodies everything that is spoken of in Proverbs 31:10-31.

In her free time, Phyllis was blessed to be able to travel the world, having visited Hawaii, Russia, China,  Greece, Australia, Austria & Germany and cruising through the Caribbean just to name a few.  She also appreciated time spent painting, going for walks and dancing to Polka Music.  Later in life, Phyllis enjoyed the simple quietness of watching birds, monitoring the weather and fabricating puzzles.  Above all else, Phyllis was a dedicated grandmother who loved her grandchildren very much and was proud of everything that they have become.

She was a quiet listener who gained insightful wisdom through all that life presented to her.  Her sweet and gentle demeanor will always be remembered and cherished by all those who knew her and loved her.

Survivors include her children: Gerald (Amber) Schnuell, David (Conni) Schnuell; a daugher-in-law: Sandy Schnuell; her grandchildren: Jason, Shasta, Kate, Kris, Meg & Jonathan Schnuell, Jake (Jenny) Schnuell, Kayla (Adam) Raquet, & Samantha Schnuell; her great grandchildren: Brant & Wil Schnuell, & Knox Racquet

and her sisters: Dorothy Durben & Ginny (Verl) Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wilbur; her son: Roy Schnuell; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: John Durben, Clarence (Elvira)  Nysse.
