Ray J. Tyson

Ray J. Tyson, age 76, of St. Nazianz, died August 7, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born January 24, 1944, son of the late Jeffery Tyson and Mary Jane Bowe. Ray married Pauline Sebo in 1964. Ray retired from Tecumseh Products in New Holstein after 43 years.



Ray, in his younger years, enjoyed hunting, bowling, shooting pool, playing softball, and also enjoyed coaching youth baseball. He loved spending time with family and friends, whether it was sitting around talking, playing sheephead, or going out to eat. He also enjoyed remodeling and woodwork projects. 



Ray is survived by his wife, Pauline; his children: Penny (David) Kohlbeck of Reedsville, Peggy (Gerald) Ditter of St. Nazianz, and Paul (Peggy) Tyson of St. Nazianz; five grandchildren: Jordan Tyson, Minda (Zak) Peterson, Jacob Ditter (special friend, Sydney Schaller), Alleia Tyson, and Joey Tyson; three step-grandchildren: Amanda Ditter (Aaron Haen), Ashley (Owen) Carle, and Joshua (Kayla) Ditter; three great-grandchildren: Averick, Alaurah, and Xeenia; nine step-great-grandchildren: Auden, Ashton, Branden, Garrett, Serenity, Cora, Lincoln, Natalie, and Blake; five sisters and two brothers: Betty (Calvin) Dahl, Bill (Joyce) Tyson, Mary Ann Buechel, Honey Lou Barnett, Bonnie Mahloch, Delilah Mahloch, and Corey Bowe; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law: Roy Sebo, Sandy (Terry) Lemburger, Debra Riesterer (special friend, Glen Woelfel), Kathy (Gary) Carney, and Melissa Tyson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.



Ray was preceded in death by his parents: Jeffery Tyson and Mary Jane Bowe; his mother- and father-in-law: Elmer and Alice Sebo; one daughter: Paula Tyson; a sister and brother-in-law: Janey and James Nenahlo; brothers: Kenneth Bowe, James Bowe, and Willard Tyson; brother-in-law: Joe Mahloch; and sister-in-law: Gloria Tyson.



A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, August 14, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 12:00pm until 4:00pm at the funeral home on the day of the service. A committal service will take place at the Charlestown Union Cemetery following the service.
