Raymond J. Davis

Raymond J. “Ray” Davis, 91, died Friday, March 19, 2021 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born in Milwaukee on December 4, 1929 to Frank and Ann (Gerbyshack) Davis. Ray served in the United States Air Force from 1951 – 1955. A combat veteran of the Korean war, he was an aircrew member aboard RB-26’s assigned to the 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, 5th Air Force. Ray flew extremely dangerous missions while providing direction for fighter-bomber sweeps.   

On April 21, 1961 Ray married Beverly Erickson in Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2015.

Ray always entertained friends and relatives by having picnics and Sunday dinners, making great meals for friends and family. Ray spent over thirty years as a pharmaceutical salesman. He then helped start his family’s abatement remediation company. Ray was an active outdoorsman and member of Calvary Bible Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn (Randy) Raube; four sons, Mike (Sarah) Davis, John (Dawn) Davis, Steve (Sabrina) Davis, and Mark (Nikki) Davis; ten grandchildren, Kole, Landon, Emma, Joel, Owen, Jordan, Jada, Frances, Laura, and Trevin; three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Claudia, and Bert; two brothers, Robert (Terry) Davis and Roger Davis; and two sisters, Pat Gorenc and Elaine (Don) Jacques. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; daughter, Debbie Davis; grandson, Tyler Davis; brother, Russell (Priscilla) Davis; brother-in-law, Paul Gorenc; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Davis.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ken Kramer officiating. Due to Emergency Order #1 under Executive Order #105, masks are required while in attendance at the funeral home. Burial in Rienzi Cemetery will follow the service with Military Funeral Honors rendered by the USAF and American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75.
