Richard Lee Hare

Richard Lee Hare, 61, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in New Madrid, MO as a result of an automobile accident.  He was born on October 28, 1951 at Waupun Memorial Hospital, the son of Elwyn and Elverda (Koepke) Hare.  Richard was very active in sports such as baseball, golf and tennis.  He played in the little league division and later the legion and then became coach for these leagues.  Rick graduated from the University Stevens Point and after graduation he worked at Rueping Leather, Co.  When they closed he started FDL Manufactured Home Sales along with Kellie and Paul Smith.  Rick married Kellie Gray on August 19, 1972.  He enjoyed gardening and was always proud of his tomatoes.  Rick moved to New Madrid, Missouri on October 3, 2002 and worked for SEMO Health Network.  Rick had recently started working for the Super8 Corp. and was extremely happy with his job and often ran into people from Wisconsin.  He loved the people he worked with.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Megan (fiancé, Tony Compton) Hare; his father, Elwyn “Mike” Hare; friend, Vanessa Landers; sisters-in-law, Mandi  (Bill) Hendricks and Missi Gray; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Elverda on March 6, 2012.

 

The visitation will be held from 2-3:30 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Blain officiating.  Committal prayers and entombment will be held at a later date at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
