Richard “Rick” Davies

Richard “Rick” Davies, a lifelong resident of Fond du Lac, passed away on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Rick’s last days were spent with family and friends doing what he loved best, hunting.

Rick was born on June 28, 1960. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1978. He received an Associate’s Degree of Science from UW Fond du Lac and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Geography from UW Oshkosh. Rick was a dedicated employee at Holiday Automotive for 41 years where he managed the body shop for many years.

For over a decade Rick played in the Adult Men’s Wisconsin Association of Soccer League. He traveled to Germany to play International Soccer. Rick was Coach of the Year for the Fond du Lac Youth Soccer Association, coaching multiple traveling leagues both recreational and Select soccer teams. He was an active member in his son’s Cub Scouts and Boy Scout programs for many years. Rick always took pride in helping his children with the Pinewood Derby and Rain Gutter Regatta competitions. As a youth he played on the local Blue Line Hockey Club.

Rick’s enthusiasm for hunting and fishing began at a very young age while spending time with his father and brothers up north. He passed his love for the great outdoors onto his sons. There was no other place Rick would rather be, than at his home away from home, his cabin in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin. Rick enjoyed going to NASCAR and motorcycle races. At home you could find him watching hunting, National Geographic and history programs.

Over the past year while battling cancer, Rick maintained a positive attitude on life. He continued to pursue his passion of hunting with family and friends, hunting and fishing in exclusive areas in Wisconsin and Canada.

Rick’s friends represent the highest distinctness of friendships. Growing up he could not have asked for any better lifelong friends. Their loyalty to each other was extraordinary.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends, his legacy will continue by the positive impact that he has instilled in all of us.

Rick and his family are very grateful to all the doctors and employees of the Agnesian Cancer Center for showing so much compassion and love to him during his treatment.
