Rita Kraemer

Rita Kraemer found eternal peace on March 3, 2022. She was born November 9th, 1958 in Green Bay, WI, the second of six children to Richard and Frances Manning. Rita spent much of her childhood in Eugene, Oregon before moving to Chilton in the late 70’s.

Rita spent a number of years as part owner of Pla-Mor Lanes in Chilton, Wisconsin. It was after she left Pla-Mor, however, where she found her true calling: working in the service of others. Rita spent the last twenty years of her life working in nursing home settings and in homes for adults with disabilities. Rita took great pride in her ability to forge relationships with those with whom she worked, and she was always willing to go the extra mile to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Rita was an avid gardener and between the months of April and October spent more time outside than inside, it seemed.

Rita’s greatest joy later in life was her three  grandchildren: Bristen VanAkkeren, Raya VanAkkeren, and Julian Mathes. Her grandchildren brought out her inner child, and Rita was able to forge a connection with the three of them that will never be forgotten.

Rita’s smile, kindness, and sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched, including her siblings: Rick and Renee, aunt Mary, friend Diane, children Holly (Chris) and Nathan (Jane), nephew CJ, and her grandchildren.

A time of gathering for friends and family will take place from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.

Because her ‘green thumb’ was not passed on to her children, instead of flowers or plants, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Rita Kraemer.
