Rita S. Freund
Rita S. Freund, 80, of Malone, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at St.Agnes Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 10, 1932, in Dotyville, the daughter of John and Theresa Loehr Wettstein. On July 11, 1951, she married Harvey J. Freund at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. Rita was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. She was formerly employed by Chilton Metal Products for 27 years. She later worked at Brooke Industries. Rita enjoyed bingo, bird watching, going to the casinos, camping, and traveling.
Surviving is her husband, Harvey, five sons, John Freund of New Holstein, Ervin (Kathy) Freund of Malone, Lester (Katie) Freund of Green Bay, Garry (Patricia) Freund of Fond du Lac, and Allen Freund of Malone, a daughter, Susie (Gerald) Roehrig of Malone, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Herbert Wettstein of Germantown, and two brothers-in-law, Ambrose Loecher and Robert Seal, both of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alvin, a daughter, Beverly, two brothers, Bernard and Kenneth Wettstein, and three sisters, Mary Manthey, Monica Seal, and Julie Loecher.
Visitation for Rita S. Freund will be on Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Family prayers will be on Monday, January 21st at 10:15 AM at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. The Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
