Robert C. Mueller

Robert Clemens “Bob” Mueller, age 80, of Chilton, died on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein.  He was born November 1, 1938 in the Town of Stockbridge, son of the late Clarence & Esther (Wettstein) Mueller.  He married Marie Halbach on September 19, 1961 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg.

Following his high school graduation, Bob served in the United States Army and shortly following his discharge he began working for the Calumet County Highway Department.   With his many years with the county, Bob knew the history of every road in the county, able to recall the year the road was constructed and who did the work. When he retired, he could be found delivering automotive parts throughout the area for Bumper to Bumper in Chilton; a position that allowed him the opportunity to see many people and impart his wisdom of the world upon them.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Parish, where he had been a member of the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. Bob and Marie were also avid card players who enjoyed the company of others at their card clubs, one of which they belonged to for 57 years.

Since life can sometimes be hectic and unpredictable, Bob appreciated the soothing sights and sounds he witnessed while watching the Weather Chanel and HGTV.  He was also known as an excellent Neighborhood Watch Person because he had the uncanny ability to notice even the smallest deviation from the norm.

Bob loved all of the blessings he enjoyed throughout life, but above all else, his family came first in his life.  Nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with those he loved the most.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife: Marie; his children: Stephen D. Mueller, Linda (Jeff) Hedrich, Ken (Jean) Mueller, Ron (Tina) Mueller, Kevin (Julie) Mueller, Rick (Brenda) Mueller, Lori (Paul) Schmitz; grandchildren: Michael (Mary) Mueller, Josh (Liz) Hedrich, Joe (Alisha) Hedrich, Shayla Mueller & Justin, Kelsey Mueller, Paige (Ty) Bodden, Ashlynn Mueller, Nicole (Matt) Vetting, Brittney Mueller, Alyssa Mueller & Dave, Madison Mueller & Colton, Andy (Miranda) Bell, Ryan Bell, Austin Mueller, Kennidie Mueller, Jaymi Schmitz; his great grandchildren: Lucy, Maxwell, Korbin, Wesley, Lucas, Leora, Isla, Scarlett, Faith and another to be arriving soon; his siblings: Dolores Halbach, Ruth Molitor, Betty Buechel, David Mueller, Donny Mueller; and his siblings-in-law: Lari Grebe, Betty Kraus, Allen (Chris) Halbach, Ruth Halbach.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws: Alois & Catherine Halbach; a sister: Doris (Eddie) Roehrig; and his siblings-in-law: Alois Halbach, Jr., Earl (Monica) Halbach, Willie Buechel, John Molitor, Chuck Grebe, Marvin Kraus, Roger (Helen) Halbach and Herbie Muellenbach.

Main St.) in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 and on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 10:45 am.  A vigil service will take place at the funeral home Wednesday evening at the close of visitation.
