Robert Charles Ross

Robert ‘Bob’ Ross passed into heaven November 7, 2016. His
wife of 61 years was at his side. He was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania
July 27, 1928. He was the son of Robert Joseph and Nora Alice Murphy Ross.

He graduated from East Pittsburgh High School in 1946 and
immediately joined the Navy.  He later
joined the Army and was honorably discharged from the service with the rank of
Captain in the Armored Artillery. He graduated from Duquesne University in 1955
and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1958. He taught English and Spanish
for 34 years at several High Schools in the Cleveland suburbs and southern
Ohio. After his retirement, Bob and his wife moved to Fond du Lac in 1988.

Bob was married to his loving wife, Wanda Virginia Anthony,
on April 16, 1955 at St Anthony’s Church in Wheeling, West Virginia. Together
they had three children: Ann Marie (Mark Farmer) Fond du Lac, Joseph,
Naperville, IL and Robert Nicholas, Henderson, CO. He continued classes beyond
the Master’s Degree for the next thirty years. During these years, watching his
children grow up, he enjoyed coaching and managing their Little League Baseball
and Bantam League Football teams.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St Joseph’s Church
and served as an Usher from 1990 until 2011. He proudly served the Knights of
Columbus Council #664 as a Fourth Degree Knight and for the Order of St Vincent
de Paul.  He further served as a teacher
and adult leader with RCIA and CCD.

He is survived by his wife, children and five grandchildren,
Robert Ross Post (Sandy), Douglas Post, Lauren Post, Natalie Ross, Anthony Ross
and his step grandchildren Meghan Wilkins (Justin) and Lindsey (Michael)
Pietrowski and one great grandchild, Emilie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother,
Joseph and younger stepbrother, Donald.

Visitation:  Bob’s
family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from
11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way in
Fond du Lac.

Service:  A Memorial
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at
12:00 PM following the visitation. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at
the Chapel of the Risen Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Vincent
De Paul Society.
