Robert E. Levenhagen

Robert E. Levenhagen, 84, of Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on July 4, 1937, in Fond du Lac, the son of Elvin E. and Ruth L. Henning Levenhagen.  He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1958 to 1963.  On December 5, 1959, he married Janice M. Warner, at St. Mathews Church, Fond du Lac.

Robert was a union carpenter working for CD Smith during his apprenticeship, and then for Capelle Bros & Diedrich for 37 years. After retirement, he volunteered for WELS Builders for Christ for 17 years, working on 41 projects all over the United States, including Alaska. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he assisted in building several projects and served on the Church Council.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Janice Levenhagen of Fond du Lac, his sons: Robert E. (Mary) Levenhagen II of Cheyenne, WY, Glen A. (Jill) Levenhagen of Fond du Lac and Jeffrey J. Levenhagen of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren: Erin (Jason) White, Jason (Lindsey) Levenhagen, Adam Levenhagen and Isaac Levenhagen; four great-grandchildren: Charleigh, Cooper and Cade Levenhagen and Ronin White; his siblings: William Levenhagen, Leona Miles, Dorothy (Bob) Kurth, Elvin (Joyce) Levenhagen Jr. and Winifred McCullough; his brothers and sisters-in law: Ralph (Sue) Warner and Judy Warner; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law Arthur and Doris L. Warner his siblings: Rosalee Kraun, Roy Levenhagen and Faye Henke; and his brothers and sisters-in-law.

VISITATION: Family will greet friends on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Borgwardt and Rev. Christopher Rathje officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to WELS Builders for Christ or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
