Robert L. Moses

Robert L. Moses, age 77, of Fond
du Lac, died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at his residence. He was born on May
25, 1941, in Fond du Lac, the son of George and Elizabeth (Kalous) Moses. Bob
was a veteran who served in the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise. He
returned home after his military service to help his father in the family
hardware store. On February 1, 1969, he married Patricia Moses in Fond du Lac.
She preceded him in death on May 28, 2006. Bob and his wife Pat owned and
operated Moses Hardware from 1969 to 1995, and then owned and operated the
Wayside Bar & Restaurant from 1986-2016. Even retired, Bob was actively working
to reopen the Wayside at the corner of Scott St and Highway 45.

 

Survivors include two sons,
Robert W. (Pamela) Moses and Christopher (Vasilike Sakoulas) Moses both of Fond
du Lac; five grandchildren, Sloan, Elijah, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Matthew; his
brother, Tom Moses of Edina, MN; sister, Mary (Donald) Turner of Neenah; three
sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Smith of Fond du Lac, Carol (Jerry Siepel) Thomma of
Pembine, and Joan Crosses of Fond du Lac; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Matthew
Faucher) Thomma of Houston, TX, Anthony (Lynn) Thomma of Fond du Lac, Michael
Thomma of Friendship; and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his
wife, Pat; two sisters, Ann Marie, and Sr. Ann Therese “Betty”, granddaughter,
Catherine Moses; brother-in-law, Stephen Thomma.

 

Visitation will take place on
Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 2-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N.
Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on
Friday, January 25, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th
St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Visitation will take place on Friday at the
church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Cremation will follow the
service.
