Robert N. Wienke

Robert “Pops” “Poppa Bear” N. Wienke, 88, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where he resided for the past three years.

He was born on March 30, 1930, in Kenosha, the son of Frank and Elsie Schneider Wienke. He proudly served in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. On July 31, 1966, he married Mary Ann McGrain. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2007.

Robert was a member of Calvary Bible Church and loved to talk about Jesus. He was a truck driver for International Paper and Brenner Tank. Robert was a member of Bohlman-Grimes VFW Post #1904. He enjoyed steam engines, trucks, cutting lawns and helping people out.

He is survived by his daughters: Barbara (Jay) Rosenthal of Fond du Lac and Bonnie (Bob) Schindel of Horicon; numerous step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; his two sisters Helen Elston of Slinger and Emmaline of Milwaukee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Ann, his brothers and sisters.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Ken Kramer officiating. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military services. Entombment at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
