Robert V. Funk

Robert Victor “Bob” Funk, age 81, of Stockbridge, died on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Prairie Home Nursing Home in Menasha.  He was born July 2, 1938, son of the late James & Marie (Filips) Funk.

Bob began working on the Funk family homestead until he was hired at Hillside Cheese Factory until he retired after over 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and looked forward to the winter when he could ice fish on Lake Winnebago or go hunting at his cabin up north in Mercer, Wisconsin.

Bob will be remembered as a big jokester who loved to pull pranks on anyone he could and always had a ‘smart remark’ to impart upon conversations taking place around him.  Because of his fun loving demeanor, many of his friends referred to him as “Giggles”.

Survivors include his siblings: Dolores Lewandowski, Richard (Kathie) Funk and Margaret Nushardt.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: James Funk, Jr., Eleanor (George) Mader, John Funk; and his in-laws: William Nushardt and Donald Lewandowski.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019.
