Roger M. Cheevers, Jr.

Roger M. Cheevers Jr. of Fond du Lac, WI is now home with his Savior.  He arrived home to the Lord whom he loved on June 23, 2022 at the SSM Hospice Home of Hope.

Roger was born December 27, 1941 in New Bern, NC, the son of Roger Sr and Laura Cheevers. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1960, and on July 10, 1965 he married the love of his life, Carol Ann Vogt in Fond du Lac WI. Roger served in the US Army Reserve from 1962 -1969. Roger spent his working career in the Trucking Industry.

Roger cherished traveling and making memories with his wife Carol, loved beyond words being on the lake, fishing with his son Steven and grandsons, hunting with his lifelong friend Jerry, golfing with his Uncle Bob, and being up north with his daughters.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol Cheevers of Fond du Lac, three children, Steven (friend Stasi) of Van Dyne, Jean Hilby (Robert) of Friendship, and Julie Van Deslunt (Patrick)of Fond du Lac. He was a loving and supportive grandfather of Cody (Riley), Josh (Corrin), Stephanie (Phil), Jacob (Emily), Andrew (Ashley), Lukas, Tyler, Robert (Stacie), and Samantha (Benjamin). He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Nicole, Kyler, Avery, Jackson, Rab, Charlotte, Gus, Catherine, and Charlotte with three more babies expected in September. He is also survived by his two sisters, Wanda Cohen (David), and Chris Cheevers (Vince), his nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister, Laura, grandson Nicholas, brother-in-law Norn, and his Uncle Bob.

We are profoundly grateful to the entire staff at Hospice Home of Hope who loved and cared for Roger with the most tender dignity and respect. The family is also in complete gratitude to Julie Schwartz and staff SSM Adult Day Services of Fond du Lac.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the SSM Hospice Home of Hope and SSM Foundation – Adult Day Services.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Holy Family Parish.  Cremation has taken place.
