Roman Martin Swiss

Roman Martin Swiss, 72, of Fond du Lac passed away Sunday July 14, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Hope.

He was born October 17, 1940 in Chicago, IL, a son to Walter and Theresa Scanlon Swiss.

Roman graduated from Goodrich High School with the class of 1958.

On September 8, 1962 he married Judy Rautenberg in Sacred Heart Chapel, Fond du Lac.

Roman was a claims manager at Combined Insurance for 22 years and retired a Sergeant from Waupun Correctional Institute after 23 years.  He enjoyed bowling, golf, volleyball, and baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs.  He is a member of Holy Family Parish Sacred Heart Church.

Survivors include his wife Judy; two sons: Mike (Heidi) Swiss of Scottsdale, AZ and Steve (Dana) Swiss of Fond du Lac; one daughter Vicki Swiss of Fond du Lac; two granddaughters: Samantha and Emily Swiss; brother Wallace (Kay) Swiss of Ocala, FL; sister Denise (John) McCrary of N Fond du Lac; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Joseph Mikson; father and mother-in-law Louis and Ruby Rautenberg; and his brother-in-law James Rautenberg.

Visitation:  Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  There will also be visitation on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, from 10:00 to 10:45 am.

Service:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at Holy Family Church at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
