Ronald P. Marks

Ronald Paul “Bud” Marks, age 87, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his home in Chilton. He was born November 3, 1929 in Manitowoc, son of the late Clinton & Emma (Khail) Marks. He married Carol J. Benzinger on April 28, 1956 in Mischicot. Ronald worked for Wisconsin Public Service for 35 years, retiring at the age of 62 and continually kept himself well informed and up to date on current events all through his retirement.

He was a devout Catholic who lived out his deep faith, attending Mass regularly knowing he was receiving all of God’s blessings for daily living through this sacred service. One of Bud’s greatest blessings was his marriage of 57 years to Carol and the 7 children they cherished and raised together. Nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with his children and family outdoors or playing a good game of Sheepshead which was sure to invoke his great laugh and memories to share.

With a passion for the outdoors, Bud enjoyed time spent fishing, camping and tending to his vegetable and flower gardens he had raised through the years. Bud was also never afraid to tackle home improvements on his own when the maintenance was needed.

He was a huge sports fan who would watch baseball games everyday through the summer and loved cheering for his beloved Green Bay Packers in the fall and winter.

Bud enjoyed road trips in his Buick through the countryside with his beloved Carol next to him. He also relished the opportunity to volunteer wherever and whenever he could.

Survivors include his children: Greg (Erin) Marks, Gary Marks, Ann (Jim) Holzer, Nick (Ava) Marks, Mary Marks, Sara Marks, Jennifer (Todd) Frantz; 10 grandchildren: Jeff (Amy) Marks, Kelly Marks, John (Kelly) Holzer, Maria (Jason) Koslowski, Tony & Thomas Holzer, Jaime & Michael Marks, Sofia & Benjamin Frantz; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Isabella & Liam Marks, James & John Robert Holzer with another arriving in March; a sister: Sandy (Jack) Meisner; and his sisters-in-law: Eleanor & Carol Marks.
