Rose D. Scannell

Rose Dorothy Scannell, 62, of Armstrong passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa after a courageous battle with cancer. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her strong will to live, faith in God and the prayers of family and friends helped her through her difficult journey. 



She was born on June 3, 1955 in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Joseph and Geny (Hilt) Kraus. On May 26, 1973, Rosie married Michael Scannell at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. She worked at Pfeifer Feed Mill, at Blank’s Supper Club and volunteered at Villa Loretto. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish, the Dotyville Hunting and Fishing Club and East Shore Conservation Club. Rosie enjoyed traveling especially to Hawaii, Alaska and a number of cruises. 



She also enjoyed sitting on her tractor and observing God’s creation. Most important to her was the time she spent with family, husband, sons and very special grandchildren. 



Rosie is survived her husband Mike, sons Kenneth Scannell, Brian (Audra) Scannell and Paul (Andrea) Scannell, her grandchildren Alyssa, Brianna, Bret and Ashlynn, mother Genevieve “Geny” Kraus, brothers James (Linda) Kraus, Donald (Kathy) Kraus and Mark (Kathy) Kraus, sisters Mary “Jeannie” (Richard) Schroeder, Linda (Edward Scannell, Betty (Kenneth) Pitzen, Annie Kraus, Helen (James) Stenz, Joyce (James) Gaulke, Nancy (Paul) Diederichs and Kathy (Tom) Diederichs, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jerry and Mary Jo Scannell, Shirley and Rick Straub, Jean Scannell and Chuck Narges. She is further survived by her extended family at Pfeifer Feed Mill, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 



She was preceded in death by her daughter Kim Marie, father Joseph, brother-in-law Patrick Scannell and sister-in-law Mary Narges. 



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sunday, July 9th at 7:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hill Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden. 



Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and burial will be Monday at 9:00 AM in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Armstrong. 



Visitation will be Sunday July 9th from 3:00 PM until time of Mass at Shepherd of the Hills Church. 



In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials to Villa Loretto or the Free Spirit Riders.
