Ruth H. Stanelle

Ruth H. Stanelle, 89, a resident of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 1st, 1928 in Kloten, WI, a daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Franzen) Ludwig.

Ruth graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1947. On October 21st, 1952 she married Harry J. Stanelle at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton, WI. After 54 years of marriage, Harry preceded Ruth in death on July 14th, 2007.

Ruth worked at G.C. Murphy Company and the Fond du Lac Reporter. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and attended Sacred Heart Church. She loved having her family around, whether it was a night of games, a weekend picnic, birthday, a Packer game or holiday celebrations.

Ruth is survived by her children, Keith (friend Adda) Stanelle of Van Dyne, Joan Stanelle of Fond du Lac, Gary (Ella) Stanelle of Fond du Lac, Scott (Maureen) Stanelle of San Jose, CA, and Todd Stanelle of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Laura (Erik) Unmuth of Waterford, Sean and Mariah Stanelle of San Jose, Jessica (Bryan) Johnston of Brillion, Gretchen (Mike) Rauls of Fond du Lac; five great-grandchildren, Alison, Hunter, and Parker Gade, Katelyn and Haylee Rauls.

Ruth is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Letty (Bill) Weidman of Savannah, IL, and Anita Dusowsky of Watertown, WI, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her special loyal friends Rosie and Joyce, who visited or called often and all the Murphy crew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, a son, Mark Stanelle, eight sisters, two brothers, seven sisters-in-law and nine brothers-in-law.

Services: A Liturgy of the Word will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at Noon. Deacon Ricardo Munoz will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to visit the funeral home on Saturday, September 8th from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Thank You very much to all of the caring nurses, doctors and staff at St. Agnes Hospital and the Agnesian Cancer Center for the care of our mother, especially to Dr. Galina Petrinska, RN Emily and RN Hannah on the fifth floor south wing for their very sincere, loving and compassionate care of Ruth in her final days and hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials are directed to the Agnesian Cancer Center or American Cancer Society in her name.
