Ruth Josephine Re

Ruth Josephine Re, 79, resident of Fond du Lac, passed away at St. Agnes Hospital on Saturday, June 28, 2014.  Ruth was born in Milwaukee on March 1, 1935, a daughter of Josef and Catherine (Hunold) Anheier.

On October 1, 1955 she married Anthony N. Re at St. Catherine’s Church in Milwaukee.

Ruth was a devote Catholic with a very strong faith.  Her love and devotion to her husband and six children always came first in her life.  Ruth was also an avid animal lover.  Her many dogs, whom she loved to spoil and treat like royalty, came after her family.

Ruth took pride in her home in Ravera Heights where she raised her six children.  Caring for her family, cleaning the house, cutting the lawn and making the best meals around gave her the utmost joy.

She was always very proud of her children and grandchildren, wanting to share their accomplishments with anyone willing to listen.  She was a true example of what a mom should be; faithful, devoted and loving.  She will be sadly missed because she truly was the best mom ever.

One of her proudest accomplishments was spearheading the Quarterback Club at Goodrich High School.  She developed some of her best friendships with the folks she was fortunate enough to serve with.

Ruth is survived by her 6 children, Connie (James) Diener of Fond du Lac, Tony (Cindee) Re of Sussex, Dean (Sheila) Re of Green Bay, Jeff (Lori) Re of De Pere, Chris (Eric) Gross of Fond du Lac and John (Jenny) Re of Menasha; 19 grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Courtney, Dallas and Kirby, Kyle, Sam, Sarah, Anna and Megan, Jacob, Matthew and Joseph, Andrew and Madeline, Katelyn and Karli, Tyler and Cooper; one brother, Richard Anheier of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Ruth in death are her parents; husband Anthony; three brothers, John, Joseph and Danny Anheier and one sister, Heddy Stadler.
