Ruth M. Roll

Ruth M. Roll, age 90, of Chilton, died on Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.  She was born June 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Edmund A. & Eleanor (Whitby) George.  Ruth married Philip M. Roll on May 5, 1956 in Chilton.  



She worked as a secretary for Attorney Jerome Fox for many years and later as a secretary at the Calumet County Courthouse.  She was a member of Ebenezer UCC where she served as a church teller, served on committees and sang in the choir for 35 years.  She loved reading, traveling, theatre presentations, museums and playing bridge.  Ruth had an uncanny ability to create delicious home made meals which brought those she loved together to share stories and each others’ company.  



Ruth was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and The Chilton Women’s Club. She served as secretary for the Brothertown Union Cemetery Association and was the secretary of the United Fund of Chilton for 15 years.  



Survivors include her four children: Thomas (Lynn) Roll, James (Ruth Bardenstein) Roll, Mary Roll, and Mike (Karen) Roll. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Aaron) McKay, Samuel Roll, Alexander Roll, Emily (Fred Thomas) Roll, Natalie Roll, An Van den Bulck, Amy Van den Bulck, Austin Roll, Luke Roll, Gina Roll; and her two great grandchildren: Hanna McKay & Brooklyn McKay.



Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Philip; a son-in-law: Eric Van den Bulck; and her brother: Lyle (Virginia) George.



Funeral service will be at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday, September 8, 2017.
